Description
This rotor bearing kit covers the R240 electric motor used in all Renault Zoe models (2017–2024) and Smart Fortwo W453 (2017–2024). Available in two variants selectable at checkout:
Standard – NTN Steel Bearing
OEM-grade NTN bearing engineered for high-RPM motor performance. Reduced friction, improved heat resistance and long service life. Identical specification to the original equipment, however, steel bearings are susceptible to electrical current passing through the bearing race — a known cause of premature wear on induction motors.
Premium – SKF Ceramic Bearing
The SKF ceramic upgrade eliminates current-induced bearing damage entirely, as ceramic balls are electrically non-conductive. Furthermore, ceramic bearings offer higher hardness, lower rolling resistance and longer fatigue life. This is the same ceramic bearing technology EV Clinic uses in the Tesla LDU HolyGrail kit, validated to over 960,000 km. Therefore, the ceramic option is strongly recommended for fleet operators and high-mileage vehicles.
