Smart 453EQ DCDC Permanent Upgrade Solution 3.5kW

This is a permanent upgrade solution for the Smart 453EQ electric DCDC onboard module failure.

If your Smart 453EQ has DCDC internal errors, 12V charging problems, counter faults or one of the typical fault codes listed below, this new 3.5kW DCDC unit is designed to fully replace the original weak Delta DCDC module.

P0852F1

The original Delta DCDC module used in the Smart 453EQ is only 2kW and is known to fail repeatedly, especially when the 12V system has higher consumption such as GPS tracking, OBD devices, additional consumers or aged 12V components.

When the DCDC counter reaches zero or the internal error flag appears, the vehicle can show faults such as P085296 and P0852F1. In many cases, Mercedes does not replace only the DCDC module. After warranty expiration, the official repair can include replacement of a large part of the powertrain assembly, with costs reaching up to €5,500 to €8,000.

EV Clinic was among the first workshops to successfully reverse engineer and repair the original Delta 2kW DCDC module. However, repairing the weak original design is not the best long-term solution. The Delta unit can fail again after 15 to 24 months.

That is why EV Clinic now offers a new tested and homologated 3.5kW DCDC upgrade module. It fully replaces the original Delta DCDC unit and removes the repeated repair cycle. This is a stronger, more reliable and more affordable solution for Smart 453EQ owners.

Service options:

Option 1: Complete vehicle service
You deliver the vehicle to EV Clinic or one of our branches. We remove the old DCDC module, install the upgraded 3.5kW unit and complete the service.

Option 2: DCDC module only
You remove the DCDC module yourself and send it to us. This option is only recommended if you have proper technical experience, HV safety knowledge and can correctly remove and reinstall the unit.

Removing and reinstalling the DCDC module requires approximately 8 working hours.
