REPAIR STEPS
Prepare the Work Area
Verify that the work area is clear of any hazards and ensure adequate ventilation
Display warning signs indicating an ongoing EV service procedure to keep unauthorized personnel away
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including certified HV gloves, safety glasses, and insulating footwear
Disconnect Low Voltage (12V) Battery
First, disconnect the ground (negative pole) of the 12V battery to isolate the low voltage system. This prevents accidental activation of electrical components
Disconnect the High Voltage System
Locate and remove the service plug (typically located below the rear passenger seat) to isolate the high voltage system
Use insulated tools when handling the service plug to avoid accidental contact with high-voltage components
Wait for High Voltage System Discharge
After removing the service plug, allow a minimum of 20 minutes for the HV system to fully discharge. This ensures that residual voltage in the system capacitors dissipates, reducing the risk of electric shock
Test for Zero Voltage State
Use an appropriate voltage testing device to confirm that the HV system is completely de-energized
Measure voltage at various points in the HV circuit to ensure it is below 50V before proceeding with any work
Continue to wear HV gloves during testing as an...
